Roland Orcsik introduced himself at the international Litera žije festival in the Czech Republic

The festival took place between April 26-29 2023. Organizers prepared a diverse program of literature, music and theater, which were presented in both state institutions and alternative clubs. Roland Orcsik poet, writer and translator born in Yugoslavia but living in Hungary, had the opportunity to introduce himself at the festival and get acquainted with Czech, Slovenian and Bosnian writers. The Slovenian and Bosnian writers shared Yugoslavian war stories with the audience, which Orcsik supplemented from a Hungarian perspective, as the war stories of the Hungarian minority in Vojvodina are almost unknown in the literature of the former Yugoslav nations.

The most attended events of the festival were the slam poetry gatherings held at the alternative cultural center called Žižkarna. Concerts and performances also took place here. On April 27, the author presented himself at the Horká Vana café-restaurant where he had a conversation with poet Miroslav Boček. His poems and prose were translated into Czech by Tomaš Vašut before the event in order for the works to be performed in their original Hungarian language as well as in Czech. The author also discussed his upcoming novel addressing ecological issues.

During the festival, Orcsik had the opportunity to meet painter Ilona Sopóci, who, despite not speaking Hungarian, has a great interest in Hungarian culture. Her family settled in the then Czech Kingdom during the time of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and gradually assimilated into the local population.

The audience showed great interest in contemporary Hungarian literature during the festival, both in terms of young and established authors.

Mutasd magad! díjazottunk, a Moldva folyóvölgyi České Budějovicében mutatkozott be a Literatura žije nevű nemzetközi eseményen.

A fesztivált 2023. április 26-29. között rendezték meg, a szervezők rendkívül színes irodalmi, zenei és színházi műsorral készültek, melyek állami intézményekben és alternatív klubokban egyaránt helyet kaptak. A Jugoszláviában született, Magyarországon élő költő, író, műfordító Orcsik Rolandnak lehetősége nyílt bemutatkozni a fesztiválon, ahol cseh, szlovén, bosnyák írókkal is megismerkedhetett. A szlovén és a bosnyák írók részben jugoszláv háborús történeteket osztottak meg a közönséggel, amit Orcsik magyar szemszögből egészített ki tapasztalataival, hiszen a vajdasági magyarok háborús történetei szinte ismeretlenek az egykori jugoszláv nemzetek irodalmában.

A fesztivál leglátogatottabb eseményei a slam költészeti rendezvények voltak, amelyeket a Žižkarna nevű alternatív kulturális központban tartottak. Ugyanitt zajlottak a koncertek, illetve a performanszok is. A szerző április 27-én mutatkozott be a Horká Vana nevű kávézó-étteremben, ahol beszélgetőtársa Miroslav Boček költő volt. Verseit és prózáit a rendezvény előtt Vašut Tomaš fordította le cseh nyelvre, így a művek eredeti magyar nyelven és cseh nyelven is elhangoztak, illetve a szerző hamarosan megjelenő, ökológiai kérdésekkel foglalkozó regényéről is szó esett.

A fesztivál során Orcsik, többek között Ilona Sopóci festőművésszel is megismerkedhetett, aki bár nem beszél magyarul, nagyon érdeklődik a magyar kultúra iránt. Családja még a Monarchia idején telepedett le az akkor még Cseh Királyságba, idővel asszimilálódtak a helyi lakossághoz.

A fesztivál során a közönség nagy érdeklődést mutatott a kortárs magyar irodalom iránt, mind a fiatal, mind pedig a befutott szerzőket tekintve.
