Kornélia Deres at the European Poetry Festival
The European Poetry Festival hosted representatives of European nations' poets for the sixth consecutive year. The 6th European Poetry Festival welcomes poets from European nations as its guests. As one of the largest poetry festivals in the United Kingdom, this event series is characterized by the invited poets forming pairs and creating entirely new texts together. These texts are then presented as poetry performances.
The festival paves the way towards the latest and most innovative directions in the British and international poetry scene, resulting in the emergence of fresh experiments. Kornélia Deres took part in the festival's opening event which was created in collaboration with the Versopolis international poetry organization and took place at the Iklectik Artlab in London.
This year's lineup included Em Strang, Astrid Alben, Simon Tyrrell, Mark Rutter, Aljaž Koprivnikar, Aušra Kaziliūnaitė, Paolo Pergola, Harry Man, Julia Rose Lewis, Billy Ramsell, Sean Borodale, Stathis Dimitriadis, Benedict Taylor, and SJ Fowler.
"The performance created in the English language explores the possibilities of poetry beyond the human realm thematically, while following the conceptual literary traditions and the dramaturgy inherent in the performativity of poetry in a formal sense. With its unconventional framework, The European Poetry Festival provides an opportunity for free experimentation, the exploration of new connections in poetry and collaboration with international creative figures," said Kornélia Deres.
